Will it be puzzle-based? Will there be some A Way Out style element of dual play, with one player creating distractions while others move about? Or will this multiplayer venture bring a more Left 4 Dead vibe into the mix? It's a fascinating turn of events for the series, and we're intrigued to see how this co-operative gameplay will work in a game that famously racks up the tension thanks to the player's isolation and total lack of weaponry. "We've done our proof of concept," says Chateauneuf, "it is time to focus on content creation, variety. Single players will still be able to experience the terror for themselves, but this time they will also be able to co-operate with up to three others. Its release date is not yet official, but it’s due to arrive in 2022, so we’ll have to wait to play this new game from Red Barrels. ![]() We were 10 on the first Outlast and 20 on.
